Report 12-11 through 12-17-17. Our last rain was 11-27 with 0.17 inch. I've been monitoring soil moisture with my soil moisture meter every week or so, and on 12-15 the moisture dropped significantly. With predicted winds for the weekend, I watered on 12-15 for the first time since 10-30-17. Winds have been strong, gusty, and persistent since yesterday. We had frosty mornings every day, except the last two. Chickadees and finches are out, plus a more dark eyed Juncos than I've ever seen. The Mexican Salvia are still beautiful and bulbine is blooming.
