Description:
For the week ending 6/17/2018, conditions were MILDLY DRY. The 7-day moving precipitation total of 0.68 inches was 46% below the 9-year (2009-2017) average of 1.28 inches for this date and in the “mildly dry” range; the 30-day total of 3.08 inches was 16% below the 9-year average of 3.65 inches and in the “moderately dry” range; and the 90-day total of 12.51 inches was 12% above average and in the “near normal” range. The maximum daily rainfall during the week was 0.52 inches on the 11th. Temperatures were considerably cooler this week, ranging from 87 (on the 16th) to 53 (on the 14th) degrees F, with average Hi/Lo temperatures of 78/63 F. Overall, the average high was 2 degrees warmer than last week and the average low temperature was 4 degrees warmer than last week. The Mute Swan brood on Crescent Lake has been reduced from an initial 4-5 to just 2 towards the end of this week. Canada Geese, recently a daily occurrence, have been nearly absent this week. Fishermen were observed on Crescent Lake nearly daily, with a daily maximum of six.
