Description:
Yesterday and today's weather has been pleasant, but conditions remain cool. We have only had brief spots of the spring warmth. temps have stayed in the 50s. Some low 60s, but for the most part, a chilly breeze persists and negates any warmth you can feel from the sun. The ground is not saturated, but low-lying areas, sumps alomg roads, etc. still have puddles. One should expect muddy conditions in grass and forested areas. Spring bird migrants have begun showing up in Central Park and western Long Island hotspots. We are in eastern Nassau, and while a few warblers have been spotted in the area, according to eBird, we have yet to see a good migrant showing in the local hotspots in Wantagh/Seaford. Hastas and Tulip bulbs are sprouting. The trees have all begun budding as well. Butterflies and bees have been active the last week. A few mosquitos have been seen as well.
