Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: IL-BN-19
Station Name: Belvidere 5.0 NNW
Report Date: 4/19/2025
Submitted: 4/19/2025 6:49 AM
Scale Bar: Near Normal
Description:
My area picked up 0.24" of precip over the week. It was beginning to look like mildly dry soil conditions had arrived but for the time being near normal soil conditions will remain. Heavy weather with some large hail was to our North 50 miles or so, so far. Our NWS warning for stormy weather in the region pretty much nailed it and hopefully they will be able to continue to do so. Area waterways are down slightly since last week but are still fairly close to normal levels. With the cool temps lately the trees are slow to green and area lawns are slow to grow. I have yet to mow this year but will have to do so soon enough. Wildlife activity has been limited to just birds this week with the two resident geese still wandering around in my yard. Some crows have been around lately and one made the mistake of getting too near a turkey. I caught the tail end of what looked like the crow getting a rude demonstration of who is the boss. Those turkeys are not as tolerant as I once thought.
