The week started warm and wet, and ended cold and with another half inch of rain. Total rain for this week was 1.47". We're expecting our first hard freeze tonight. It was 33° yesterday morning. As I picked the last of the tomatoes and peppers before the freeze, I noted that the garden soil was moist, but not wet. The high ridges are showing a little bit of fall color. Red maples are beginning to turn, adding to the sourwoods and dogwoods. The microhydro is running with the large jet on. The drinking spring remains excellent quality and quantity.
